About Us

As we all may have heard, Fort Bend ISD and HISD, along with other districts will be starting the Fall School Year with virtual online instruction for all ages. Our staff at Creative Learning Academy is developing a plan to ensure that we can provide the best support to all our students and families during the online and virtual learning period. In a few days, we will provide families of school going students (Kindergarten and up) with a plan of how our center will help facilitate online and virtual learning for the students. We hope that parents can take advantage of this opportunity for their children as we await reopening of the school campuses.

Our other classes, Infant thru PreK, will continue to resume their Fall Session in person at our center as scheduled.

Infants (Birth Thru 18 Months)

Babies are at an amazing and delightful stage in development, and make enormous social, cognitive and physical leaps. Our teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking to your baby to instill trust and provide a healthy early learning environment for movement, exploration and communication. This stage is an important bonding time when our caregivers can help build the foundation for healthy self-esteem and a sense of confidence. Babies are often busy exploring the world around them, and we provide a range of experiences to expose them to a greater variety of stimuli.

Our Infant Program at Creative Learning Academy in Sugar Land and Rice Village is a loving and nurturing environment which focuses on our four areas of development:

  • Physical health and Motor development
  • Social and Emotional development
  • Language and Communication Development

Cognitive Development

Once babies are ready to eat table food, included in our tuition, we also provide breakfast, lunch, supper, and 2 snacks throughout the day at Creative Learning Academy in Sugar Land.

Great leaps are made in our Toddler Program; from our baby’s first steps, to learning to share, to potty-training!  Toddlers will learn how to play alone and alongside their peers.  During this stage, we also introduce themed monthly units that provide a variety of daily experiences through structured learning and free play.

The daily schedule for our toddlers includes indoor and outdoor activities that promote our four domains of development: physical health amd motor development; social and emotional development; language and communication development; and cognitive development. The preschool years are often marked by large increases in creativity and self-expression.  Preschoolers are also curious about everything that they see and hear.  This is the time our teachers encourage imagination and teach social skills to help them adapt to a new environment filled with other kids. This is also an ideal time to engage in learning centers for math, science, dramatic play, music, and creative art to provide opportunities to balance both shared and independent learning experiences.

Fort Bend ISD Partnership for Virtual Learning Support

As we all may have heard, Fort Bend ISD along with other districts will be starting the Fall School Year with virtual online instruction for students in Kindergarten and up grade levels. In order to support our students during this time of online learning, CLA Sugar Land has partnered with the following institutions:

  • We have partnered with Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) (fortbendisd.com) to be designated as a District Learning Center. FBISD will train our teachers on the online learning curriculum so that we are able to provide full support to our students.
  • We are also partnering with an FBISD recognized local tutoring company, Study Dorm (mystudydorm.com). Study Dorm will provide trained tutors to CLA Sugar Land three times a week for the students’ online learning support.

CLA Sugar Land will provide the following support to all our school going students and families as per the requirements set forth by FBISD:

  • All staff working directly with students will complete the FBISD-delivered training on curriculum tools. Training is scheduled for later this week and if we get any more information or updates, we will share that with our families.
  • CLA will follow FBISD’s daily schedule (as provided by the parent or by the campus at the parent’s request). This includes managing transitions, brain breaks, meal times, and class times in accordance with the child’s schedule from the school they attend.
  • Each student will be assigned a designated area and seating within the center for online learning.
  • CLA will provide adequate internet access to support student learning. Students will be expected to bring their own device(s) and accessories.
  • CLA will have trained staff and tutors to monitor students during their learning and support students to complete their learning daily at the center
  • CLA will always continue to follow our health and safety guidelines.

For our students to have a successful learning experience, we request the support of our parents in the following areas:

  • Please ensure that your child is dropped off with a functioning laptop, charger, and headphones daily.
  • Please ensure that your child is completing their homework and any other relevant tasks at home as required by the learning program.

Please also note that although we will try our best to ensure the safekeeping of all electronic items brought to our school by all students, it will be the student’s responsibility to ensure the care and safety of their own devices.

Please note that if your child(ren)’s online learning follows a different school district calendar (Lamar ISD, Katy ISD, HISD, Alief ISD, etc), then us know and we will accommodate their learning as needed.

Through these partnerships, we are committed to providing our students with an engaging and successful online learning experience for Fall 2020.

Please call us or email us to learn more and to register!

As fellow parents, we understand a happy child is one who is made to feel safe, nurtured, and engaged, both physically and emotionally. With that in mind, we support early childhood learning philosophies that stress the importance of a child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

We believe children learn how to form positive, caring, cooperative relationships by interacting with children and adults. Our low teacher-to-student ratio facilitates such interactions in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. Through these interactions, children build valuable social and emotional skills, and learn to get along with others.

We view our children and families as our partners. We believe open and honest communication builds a partnership that ensures the full needs of a child are met. We also recognize parents as the most important individuals in the lives of their children. It is our goal is to involve our parents and families in creating a successful learning experience for each child, and assist in the task of providing a strong foundation for their child’s future development.

At Creative Learning Academy, we believe our success lies in igniting a love for lifelong learning within each child.

CURRICULUM

Creative Learning Academy is an early learning center for infants, toddlers, and Prekindergarten children. Activities in the classroom reflect our commitment to provide a developmentally appropriate experience for all children.

Our program aims to promote four key domains of a child’s development:

  • physical health and motor skills
  • social and emotional development
  • language and communication
  • cognitive development.

Our approach is rooted in widely accepted early-childhood research that indicates the deepest, most effective learning is ingrained through play-based learning.

Our theme based curriculum supports free and structured learning in both the group, and individual setting. Play is an essential part of childhood. It offers the freedom children need to explore their surroundings, develop new ideas and concepts, and build a sense of competence, autonomy, and a positive self-concept. Play based exploration allows children to apply what they have learned to different situations, and practice decision making in each scenario.

INFANTS PROGRAM (6 Weeks to 1 Year)

Babies are at an amazing and delightful stage in development, and make enormous social, cognitive and physical leaps. Our teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking to your baby to instill trust and provide a healthy early learning environment for movement, exploration and communication.

This stage is an important bonding time when our caregivers can help build the foundation for healthy self-esteem and a sense of confidence. Babies are often busy exploring the world around them, and we provide a range of experiences to expose them to a greater variety of stimuli.

Our Infant program is a loving and nurturing environment which focuses on our four areas of development.

Physical Health and Motor Development

We support the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards, and encourage grasping, clutching, and movement. We support your baby as he or she rolls and learns to crawl, stand, and walk; and provide individual resting times for each child.

Social and Emotional Development

We hold, cuddle, hug, smile, and laugh with infants. We respond to your baby with warmth and sensitivity, and use words and facial expressions to communicate; and use family photos to promote self-awareness

Language and Communication Development

We talk with your child and acknowledge their sounds, verbalizations, and body language as communication. We talk to infants while doing everyday activities and name objects in the environment when infants show interest in them.

Cognitive Development

We help your child explore the environment around them by placing objects with different sizes, shapes, textures and sounds within the infant’s reach. We create a variety of safe spaces and objects for older infants to crawl over and around.

TODDLERS (1 to 2 Years)

You’ll see enormous social, cognitive and physical changes unfold in your baby. Great leaps are made in our Toddler Program; from our baby’s first steps, to learning to share, to potty-training!

Highlights of this stage include language development and building a sense of independence. Toddlers will learn how to play alone and alongside their peers. During this stage, we also introduce Themed monthly units that provide a variety of daily experiences through structured learning a free play.

The daily schedule for our toddlers includes indoor and outdoor activities that promote our four domains of development.

Physical Health and Motor Development

With our toddlers, we promote self-care skills such as feeding, cleaning, hand-washing, and dressing. We facilitate imaginary play with blocks and puzzles that support large-motor development and eye-hand coordination along with activities such as kicking balls, tossing, writing, drawing, and lacing.

Social and Emotional Development

We help toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity by encouraging interactions with other children in group activities and group play. We continuously provide encouragement for trying activities and playing with new people. Our caregivers respond to toddlers’ emotional expressions by naming their emotion (“I can see you are sad today, Jamie”) and model how to express emotions appropriately.

Language and Communication Development

We use circle time storytelling and word games to help your child practice imitating and responding to others. Our caregivers respond to toddlers’ questions with simple and complete sentences to increase the number of words a toddler hears.

Cognitive Development

We focus our learning areas on dramatic play, mathematics, creative arts, language, and sensory exploration. We provide opportunities to identify basic colors and shapes, and introduce simple patterns. We start talking to toddlers about where different activities happen, and what we do there; and suggest next steps in pretend play.

PRE-SCHOOL (3 to 4 Years)

The preschool years are often marked by large increases in creativity and self-expression. Parents may notice an uptick in artwork and creative expression. Preschoolers are also curious about everything that they see and hear.

This is a great time for caregivers to encourage imagination and teach social skills to help them adapt to a new environment filled with other kids. The world is growing for preschool kids and it’s important for them to have encouragement and opportunity to explore their world and build relationships with others. This is also an ideal time for children to engage in learning centers for math, science, dramatic play, music, and creative art to provide opportunities to balance both shared and independent learning experiences.
